Fortnite has the most Australian skin imaginable: a meat pie-eating tradie
'Ken oath! Australian content creator Lazarbeam will be immortalised in Fortnite as a tradie on smoko, honouring his former profession.
Strewth, battle royale sensation Fortnite isn't slowing down with the cool cosmetics anytime soon.
Thanks to popular Australian content creator Lannan "Lazarbeam" Eacott, one of Fortnite's latest skins is a tradie (construction worker, for international readers) decked out in high-vis workwear, whose emote involves parking on an esky and tucking into a meat pie.
The promotion is part of Fortnite's Icon Series, which celebrates creators who contribute to building the game's global community.
There's been a bit of Aussie representation in the popular battle royale lately, with several A-League clubs joining Fortnite earlier this year as cosmetics to celebrate world football.
Lazarbeam revealed the iconic Aussie skin via his YouTube channel, explaining that he was a tradie six years ago prior to becoming a content creator.
Massive respect for choosing The Chats' "Smoko" as the reveal soundtrack, too.
Alongside the outfit, several other cosmetic items will be available as part of the Lazarbeam Bundle starting this Friday, 5 March at 11 am AEDT.
Included in the bundle is the high-vis Lazarbeam Outfit — with the alternate Relaxedbeam Style offering a singlet and speed dealer sunnies option — Lunch Break Emote, Baby Gingy Back Bling, and Ol’ Mate Sledgy Pickaxe.
A price has not yet been announced but based on previous creator bundles, expect to pay around 2,000 V-Bucks, which roughly equates to $20.
In a press release announcing the Lazarbeam Outfit, the content creator shared his enthusiasm over immortalising an outfit so immediately recognisable to Aussies all over.
“I’m excited to share a slice of Australian culture with the global Fortnite community,” said Lazarbeam. “It’s surreal seeing yourself depicted in a videogame like Fortnite, so I was eager to add some Australian inspiration from my tradie roots when designing the Outfit and Bundle."
"And who doesn’t love a meat pie?”
For keen tradie fans who can't wait until Friday, there's the Lazar & Fresh Super Knockback tournament happening tomorrow, 3 March, offering the first chance win the outfit early.
Lazarbeam joins fellow Australia content creators Loserfruit and Lachlan as players represented within the Fortnite Icon Series. Lazarbeam's YouTube channel has over 18 million subscribers and nearly seven billion video views.
Further elaborating on the decision to choose the humble tradie outfit as his Fortnite skin, Lazarbeam tweeted about honouring his beginnings and that it would be "really fucking funny to have a tradie in Fortnite."
'Ken oath, mate — you're not bloody wrong.
